First edition. Fine, bright copy in dust jacket with light professional restoration to spine ends, corners, and extremities. The Harvard Class of 1931, has gathered for its tenth year anniversary. It's to be a three-day event and on the second day the first foursome on the course discovers a body on the eleventh tee. The body of the dead man is lying on his back with his arms at his sides and dressed in his dinner jacket, and it is positioned exactly between the tee markers. The scene resembles an ancient sacrificial ritual, only this man, Sherman North, Harvard '31, investment banker, has been shot through the heart. His car is nearby and wiped clean of fingerprints, and a trail of footprints is evident. The footprints are made by a woman's high heel shoes, and they lead from the hotel parking lot, across the fairway and ending on the tee next to the body. Juniper Jones, Harvard Literature Professor and amateur crime detective, is called to investigate the case.
