The life and times of Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith (1860-1898), who with his "bunco-men" conned and robbed the adventurers of their gold in Skagway, Alaska, mostly in the year 1898. He was a small-time crook who died after a shootout over a card game. The author contributes much to correct the myth that was Soapy Smith and provides detailed information to make the corrections.
