Scarce and beautiful land promotion issued by Landahl’s Emporium celebrating not only the Klondike Gold Rush but also the new comfortable homes, agricultural products, and more. Photographs show the climb over the Chilkoot Pass, Yukon First Nation peoples, Whitehorse, sternwheelers, street scenes in Dawson, Klondike greenhouses and farms, St. Mary’s Hospital, along with Yukon gold miners, mining operations, dredges, and more. Annis M. Kilgore (1863-1927) and Henry J. Landahl (b. 1876) were American merchants based out of Seattle, Washington, who capitalized on goods for the Klondike miners, and first founded their store selling cigars, fruit, stationery and photos as Kilgore & Landahl from 1902-1903, and then became Landahl’s Emporium, not only selling
souvenirs, but even issuing their own private tokens for use in purchasing goods. Light soiling to front cover along with light wear to the extremities as well as light crease to top corner of front wrapper. Very good bright copy.
