Pictorial wrappers, 39 pp., illustrated from photographs, portraits, references. Hampton left his native North Carolina largely because he suffered from tuberculosis and hoped moving to Texas might improve his health. He became one of the most eloquent journalists and influential Democrats in Texas. Very good copy.
