Vol. 2), Pt. 2. contains the following:Report of the Secretary of War; Being Part of the Message and Documents Communicated to the Two Houses of Congress at the Beginning of the Second Session of the Forty-Fifth Congress. Volume II. Part II. 1877. This volume comprised of Appendices X-Z, followed by Appendices AA-UU. Appendix PP reports multiple groups of troops engaged in the military expedition against the Sioux Indians in the Summer of 1876, including those led by Gibbon 0n the north side of the Yellowstone, another that was part of Terry's group that remained along the Yellowstone, and another that accompanied Custer until he divided his troops reported by Lt. George Wallace, who remained with Benteen. Appendices QQ and RR also pertain to military encounters with Indians, with RR reporting an expedition to the headwaters of the Red River in the Texas panhandle in 1876. Rebound in cloth.
