A collection of 5 pamphlets printed and distributed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company's sales staff to doctors upon whom the salesmen were calling. Each pamphlet offers a different subject. Three pamphlets entitled, "Health Heroes," each with 24pp., illustrations, and references. Health Heroes pamphlets include Florence Nightingale, Edward Jenner and Edward Livingston Trudeau, each offering the individual's life story. All three of the "Health Heroes" pamphlets are written by Grace T. Hallock and C.E. Turner. One pamphlet entitled, "First Aid." 24pp. Black and white illustrations. Index. Discusses treatment of wounds, asphyxiation, artificial respiration, electric shock, drowning, choking, poisons, effects of heat, fractures and dislocations, sprains, strains, home care of common ailments, what belongs in one's medicine chest, etc. One pamphlet entitled, "Good Teeth. How to Get Them and Keep Them." 16pp. Black and white illustrations. Discusses the tooth's structure, first aid for teeth, pain, fissures, how to keep one's teeth clean, how to use a toothbrush, lime water rinse, how teeth grown, crooked teeth, etc. All pamphlets lightly soiled and with minor wear and creasing.
