EDWARD-EDITOR CALDWELL

Other works by EDWARD-EDITOR CALDWELL

Publication: Knox College, 1924 & 1928, Galesburg, Illinois

First and Second Editions. Original Stiff Printed Wrappers, bound into Blue Cloth binding. 67pp. and 61pp. Frontispiece in Second Edition. The First Edition was comprised of a list of less than 1000 items, while the Second Edition lists over 2500 items. Of particular interest, the First Edition also reprinted A Bibliography Of The Discovery And Exploration Of The Mississippi Valley, by Appleton P. C. Griffin, Chief Assistant Librarian of the Library of Congress. The fund established by Edward Caldwell for the Knox College Library was established "to purchase books on the discovery, exploration and settlement of the Mississippi Valley with special reference to the states that were set up out of the Northwest Territory---Ohio, Indiana. Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin". Important early bibliographic information for this region. It appears that Caldwell had an unknown quantity bound together, as presented here. His signed presentation appears on the front free-endpaper, dated 1943. A fine copy.
