First edition. Author's first book. Lightly foxed on front and rear endpapers, else very good in price-clipped dust jacket with light professional restoration to the spine ends, corners, and extremities. Introduces Whit Whitney, C.P.A., who is the partner of George MacLeod, a man who has lots of money, a good looking wife, and a weakness for blondes. George was smart enough to keep business and pleasure apart, and had considerable success in both fields until he got involved with a girl who had yellow hair and tax troubles. Whit left on vacation and was recalled in haste after George was found locked in the vault with a bullet hole between the eyes. A nice copy of an elusive title.
