Austin affixed to the front pastedown sheet, preface, illustrated with 33 illustrations, index. Contains 315 essays, biographies, memoirs, and articles on almost every aspect of Texas history. Basic Texas Books 5 says : "... still a highly useful resource on early Texas." C. W. Raines called it "an invaluable book of references as to information about Texas." Eberstadt says "An invaluable and indispensable work."

This copy contains new front and rear endpapers, the very last page is in facsimile, a 2 1/2" x 4" abrasive area at the bottom of the rear cover, else a very good, internally clean and tight copy that has years of practical service to provide.
