Graff 3503 says, "Rideing accompanied Lieutenant George M. Wheeler on his survey, during a two-year period, acting as a newspaper correspondent. He traveled 4,000 miles a-saddle in New Mexico, Southern Colorado, Nevada, and Eastern California." An interesting first-hand account of the western frontier. Small abrasion to lower portion of front paste-down sheet, light wear to spine ends and corners, else a very good, solid copy.
