Publication: Doubleday, Doran & Co, Inc, 1943, Garden City

First U. S. edition. Originally published in Australia in 1936 using the title WINGS ABOVE THE DIAMANTINA. Fine, bright copy in dust jacket with light wear to the spine ends and corners, three tiny closed tears to edge of back cover, and light wear to the extremities. Detective Inspector Napolean Bonaparte investigates the discovery of a stolen airplane that lands in the far west of Queensland, and contains an unknown woman who has been rendered paralyzed by drugs. There is no sign of the pilot. "Bony" turns to an ancient chieftain to help him outwit a conspiracy and save a life. A very difficult title and a lovely copy of the second Crime Club mystery published for Upfield in the U. S.
