Langford was an explorer, businessman, bureaucrat, vigilante and historian who played an important role in the early years of the Montana gold fields, territorial government and the creation of Yellowstone National Park. A classic account of life in the mining camps of Montana, as well as a general early history of the Northwest. "One of the standard works on the Montana vigilantes and the Plummer gang of road agents."---Ramon Adams. The publisher produced a few sets of this classic in special presentation bindings; some in full leather and some in three-quarter leather with decorative boards. The quantity of either is unknown, but certain to be few. We are pleased to offer this copy in Three-Quarter Leather with Decorative Boards. A beautiful set with some very light wear to edges and corners, housed in a custom, felt-lined, clamshell case. This is the only set we have seen of this special presentation binding!
