Publication: Chausse-Prudhomme CO, Printers, 1919, Portland, Oregon
First edition. 8vo. Printed wrappers, [2] - 273 - 350 pp. Information regarding the reunion include a meeting of the Board of Directors, business session, Annual "Campfire," program of the women's auxiliary, list of past presidents, pioneers in attendance, and annual address. On pages 333-350 we find the journal of William M. Colvig, 1851 about which Mattes 1048 says: "William one of five children of Colvig family. Father served as 'second in command, and also physician' to company of twenty-seven families with about fifty wagons. Train divided at Green River, most taking the Salt Lake route, but father was anxious to 'avoid the domain of Brigham Young' because of his involvement in earlier clash with Mormons at Far West, Missouri. Left 'large freight wagon' near Fort Hall. Down the Columbia by Chinook canoe and steamer. 'Father left us at The Dalles, and brought the wagon and team over the Mountains, arriving .... with only 3 oxen left." Minor wear to the fore-edges else a near fine copy.
