Thomson lived on a ranch near Colorado City in West Texas during the late 1870's; worked on a sheep ranch in the Black Hills of South Dakota; was a scout in Wyoming, Arizona, and southeastern Nevada; and lived with the Comanche Indians. He recounts experiences with the Comanches, including a battle with the Ute tribe; the rescue of a girl who was the lone survivor of an Indian attack on her wagon train; and an account of a gunfight in mining town in northeastern Nevada. An interesting story and quite a rare work. This book does not appear in Howes, Graff, Eberstadt, Decker, Soliday, Adam's Herd or SixGuns, Rader, or any bibliographic references we could find!! A 1" x 3" piece of lower fore-corner is missing and a diagonal crease across fragile front wrapper. Occasional wear to edges of wrappers. Very good. Protected in Half-Leather 4-Point slipcase with title, author, and date in gilt.
