First edition. 8vo. Pictorial wrappers, [3], 101 pp., author's note, illustrated mostly from photographs. Biographical sketches of those who now reside in Tombstone's Boothill, one of the most famous cemeteries of the Old West. The author compiles burial records, newspaper accounts, and local documents; he corrects myths and exaggerations about the graves and he provides short biographies of many individuals interred in Boothill. The cemetery includes gunfighters and outlaws, victims of violence, hangings, and accidents, an ordinary townspeople who died young or suddenly. Some graves are linked to famous Tombstone events, including the era around the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, though many burials reflect everyday frontier hardships rather than shootouts. Fine unread copy.
