First edition. Fine in lightly soiled dust jacket with wear to top of spine and a small [ 5/8 x 1/4 ] piece missing from bottom edge of spine. In 1843 roguish gambler Paul Regret, who has been accused of killing the son of a Louisiana judge, is captured by Texas Ranger Jake Cutter. In the process of returning Regret to Louisiana, Cutter is forced to join forces with Regret to fight the "Comancheros," a large criminal gang that smuggles guns and whiskey to the Comanche Indians. Movie by the same name starring John Wayne.
