His original choices cover the period between 1845 and 1938. Queen's Quorum 46 says "... one of the most daring and imaginative books ever committed to print -- the first volume of short stories to make scientific use of psychology as a method of crime detection, including the earliest fictional appearance of the "lie-detector." Embossed red cloth, printed with titles on spine printed in white and in red on a white background on the front cover. A fine, square copy with virtually all of the white paint on the front cover and spine intact. Rare in this condition as most copies have a substantial portion of the paint chipped and rubbed away. An exceptional copy of an elusive Haycraft/Queen and Queen's Quorum title and housed in a clamshell case with titles stamped in gilt on the spine.
