7 3/4" x 9 3/4" in light green pictorial wrappers. [32] pp. Maps. Illustrations. A general history and information about the Canal Zone followed by 31 pages of black and white pictures. Pictures include the former palace of de Lesseps, the Post Office, police station and jail at Cristobal, Chagres River scenes, dredging machines, the post office in Ancon, the first steam shovel in operation at the canal, machine shops and the I.C.C. dock at Cristobal, oil pipe line, hotels, the hospital, residence of the governor, a bird's eye view of Culebra, Panama railroad station, trains hauling excavations, people going about their daily lives, etc. Inside front wrapper is a general map of the Canal Zone. Inside the rear wrapper is a map of the Isthmus of Panama. Wrappers lightly soiled and with light wear to the extremities along with rubbing to spine. Very good.
