Publication: Published by Fort Pierre Verendrye Benevolent Association, 1950, Fort Pierre

First edition. 8vo. Pictorial stiff stapled wrappers, 200 pp., illustrated, portraits, advertisements. This modestly titled work actually contains much interesting South Dakota history to include information on freighting, mining, biographies of prominent pioneer stockmen and settlers, early-day cattle brands, much on the fur trade and Indians, some mention of Custer, the Black Hills, and much, much more. Frontispiece portrait is of World Rodeo Champion Casey Tibbs and with a short biography of him. He was the "Special Guest" of the convention. A tiny nick to the fore-edge of the first page, else a near fine copy.
