One of the people Chris plays in the match is involved in the renovation of a famous old country club and the construction of an adjacent 18 holes golf course. Things get ugly for the man who wants to renovate the old country club and soon murder intervenes several times. Chris Ludlow is asked to get involved. Taylor's The Golf Murders page 92 says, "The golf described in this early part of the book just doesn't get much better."
