S/N 14, .41 rimfire short, 3 inch barrel, Remington # 2 Double Derringer. Nickel finish, two-piece ivory grips. Circe 1868. The gun is in nice condition with 99 % nickel on barrels, frame flaked to silver-gray, excellent grips, excellent mechanically, and excellent marks. The guns are small and easily hidden. They were favored by gamblers, gambling hall ladies, and anyone who wanted to have a hidden, yet effective, gun on their person. Housed in a protective cloth pistol case. Hendy Deringer (October 26, 1786 - February 28, 1868) was an American gunsmith. He is best known for inventing and giving his name to the derringer pistol. Died: February 28, 1868 (aged 81); Philadelphia.
