Original green cloth with title gilt on front cover and spine, decorated endpapers, 309 [2] pp., page edges untrimmed. Herd 807 says: "Scarce. Most of this book is comprised of patriotic speeches and miscellaneous writings, but it contains a good chapter on ranch life in Colorado. Privately printed in an edition of 150 copies, 50 of which were given away by the author, hence its scarcity." Also included are chapters on the Negro citizens, woman suffrage, the Old Santa Fe Trail, pioneers, etc. Minor bump to the corners, else a near fine bright copy.
