Dykes' High Spots of Western Illustrating p. 59 says, "Dane Coolidge, sometimes historian and a better than average western novelist, was an itinerant photographer. He visited the roundups, camps, and ranches taking pictures everywhere. My High Spot # 110 is his OLD CALIFORNIA COWBOYS, New York, 1939, 1llustrated with his own photos." The book is divided into three sections, California, Arizona, and Mexico, and discusses the historical background of vaqueros from the Spanish era to modern times. Fine copy in the elusive dust jacket. with light wear to the spine ends, corners, and extremities.
