Publication: John A Norris, 1905, Austin

Originally published in 1878 and considered to be "exceedingly rare" as only a very few copies were printed, this is the reprint edition of 1905 in blue wrappers, and later reprinted by N. H. Gammel of Austin, in tan wrappers. Blue printed wrappers, 89 pp. Six Guns 162 says "Very few copies of the original edition seem to exist; I have only seen two copies in all my years of collecting. It is said to have been written by a Dallas newspaper reporter named Morrison." Biographical sketch of Sam Bass with an emphasis on his time as a train robber. Sam Bass became a well known outlaw after he robbed the Union Pacific Gold Train in Nebraska. He was eventually hunted, double-crossed, and shot down in an ambush. None of the reprint editions are illustrated. Very good copy.
