Publication: Laird & Lee, Publishers, 1887, Chicago

First edition. 12mo. Green, pictorially embossed cloth, [17] - 162 pp., light blue front and rear endpapers, frontispiece [portrait], illustrated with three plates, appendix. While this book appears to be a first edition, there is a possibility it may be a second state of the book. Six Guns 1727 calls for the author to be A. F. Pinkerton, also the name of "Cummings" should have been written as "Cummins," all according to Ramon F. Adams. Further Six Guns 1727 says " The subject of the book is not the Jim Cummins of the Jesse James gang but a man named Fred Wittrock who used the name Cummins as an alias, though he himself spelled it Cummings." Lightly foxed and soiled throughout, else a good copy.
