[portrait], introductory, illustrated, plates, portraits, all edges red in color. History of Oklahoma including its purchase and occupation, prominent citizens, settlement of various Oklahoma cities, physical characteristics including climate, water, timber, soil, minerals, etc., churches, memorable events, public schools, banks and bankers, legal profession, railways, the press, and biographical sketches of people of prominence who have shaped the state and its institutions. Howes R391 says, "Most of the edition burned. Some copies were printed on cheap, thin paper bound in wrappers." Some professional restoration to the fore-edge of the front fly-leaf, lightly sunned on the spine, light wear to spine ends and corners, else very good copy of a scarce book. Housed in a maroon quarter leather and cloth slipcase with gold stamping on spine and raised bands.
