First edition. 8vo. Printed wrappers, 296 pp., foreword, illustrated, portraits, map, index. Twenty-seven newspaper editors in Illinois were asked to assist in getting together information that provided descriptions of points of interest, photographs, and exact locations in the state. This booklet was the result of their efforts and it became the first guide book of tourists and vacationers to Illinois. All counties are discussed along with points of interest, hotels, camping information, facts about their areas, etc. Through photographs many interesting scenes, homes, historic sites, prominent hotels, etc. are shown. There is a section, along with a photograph of each, of prominent citizens of the state. The large folding map in the rear pocket is in fine condition and points out towns, cities, villages, highways, etc. of Illinois. Former owner's penciled name on top edge of front cover, else a very good tight copy.
