First edition. Fine in dust jacket. Reverend Theodora Braithwaite is on loan to Bow St. Aelfic, a small cathedral where ambitious, unpopular Dean Vincent Stream has just been inducted. A local archaeologist discovers the well-preserved statue of the roman god Janus in a cathedral close by. Shortly thereafter, Dean Vincent Stream is found laid out before the statue of the god with his throat slashed. Theodora Braithwaite investigates.
