Publication: The Naylor Company, 1954, San Antonio
First edition. Original light blue cloth, titles stamped in dark blue on the front cover and spine, viii, 158 pp., 19.7 x 14.2 cm., half-title, introduction. Six Score 66 says, "The book was suppressed due to a threatened lawsuit; only the review copies had been released, probably amounting to no more than several dozen." "The work deals with the Graham-Tewksberry feud, also known as the Pleasant Valley War. Apparently one of the families involved took offense at statements made in the book, causing it to be withdrawn before it was generally released." The feud took place in Arizona in the 1880's & 1890's. The author claimed to have spent thirty years researching and five years writing this "modern rarity." Herd 1292 says "Exceedingly rare." Fine in a price-clipped, bright dust jacket that is lightly soiled on the white rear panel with light wear to the spine ends and corners. This book is from the renowned personal collection of Dr. George D. Lacy.
