The survey was conducted in order to, "ascertain what useful mineral substances existed in the district; their mode of occurrence, and the best method of rendering them available in the practical uses of life." Wrappers rumpled and chipped, interior clean. Inscription on front wrapper, "T.D. Robinson, Esq. With regards of E.Daniels." Overall a very good copy. Edward Daniels was the first state geologist of Wisconsin.
