First edition. First book using this pseudonym. Fine in dust jacket lightly rubbed at foot of spine and corners. A political candidate is embarrassed by the sudden appearance of a nineteen year old daughter whom he hadn't known existed. (Hard to believe in this day and time, but then again, it was 1941). He feared for the scandal and his agent attempts to keep the story from breaking in the newspapers, but someone finds out and begins by blackmailing the politician. Blackmail only goes so far before it leads to murder. A handsome copy.
