A thoroughly researched account of what happened to the settlers in the remote Lake Shetek area during the Sioux Uprising in Minnesota in 1862. The killing of many, the escape of a few, and the captivity of numerous women and children is recorded here. Also included is the story of the rescue of the captives several months later in South Dakota by friendly Indians. An interesting and rather obscure account. As new. Signed by the author.
