First editions. Buckram, titles stamped in gilt on front cover and spine, illustrated. Full page colored pen and ink drawing on front fly-leaf of all 3 volumes by Ross Santee and addressed to Louis P. Merrill. Louis P. Merrill was a noted Texas ranchman and the author of "Aristocrats of the Cow Country," which first appeared in "The Cattleman Magazine" in 1946, and was quickly adopted as a collector's guide for libraries and collectors interested in the historical development of the range/cattle industry. In addition to the full page colored pen and ink sketches by Santee on the front fly-leaf of each volume, Santee has added another colored drawing and added a signed note to Merrill in Volume XXII, has colored over some of the Santee sketches printed on 5 pages in Volume XXII, and has also colored over some of the Santee sketches printed on 5 pages in Volume XXIV...all signed by Santee. These beautiful volumes present the colorful photographs, artwork, historical discoveries, places to visit, ranching accounts, and many features of Arizona that makes "Arizona Highways" a unique publication. A wonderful collection of original artwork by the famous western illustrator, Ross Santee, and a great association with Louis P. Merrill. All fine, bright copies.
