First edition. Oblong 16 mo. 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" colorful stiff wrappers, 40 [4] pp., illustrated mostly in color throughout. Laid-in are eight color tent canvas samples with printed text on each that tells the weight, mildew, water and fire resistance for each one, plus a two-page, light blue brochure that describes and offers for sale tent hardware supplies. Also laid-in is the original addressed and stamped mailing envelope. This nicely-illustrated catalogue displaying the line-up of Anchor Supply Co. tents following World War II. Included are items such as the California style (shed roof) ball game hood, fair refreshment tens, bingo tents, merry-go-round tops, side-show tents, and automobile camping tents. The company even supplied a special "Palmistry Tent" for fortune tellers. The Anchor Supply Co. was originally founded in 1892 as a riverboat supply house on the Ohio River, and with the growing demand for waterproof covers, Louis Daus, the company's founder, expanded his canvas goods product line. The company still operates in Indiana employing 300 workers, and over 350,000 square feet of production space. A fine copy.
