Primarily a collection of signed testimonials from farmers and settlers, solicited by the Railway, offering firsthand accounts of their experiences farming and establishing homesteads in southeastern and central Dakota, to include crop yields, agricultural profits, cattle raising, land prices, climate, and the opportunities available to prospective settlers. Dakota is presented as a highly productive and desirable agricultural region, emphasizing its inexpensive land, abundant crops, prosperous farms, healthy climate, and growing communities. The publication clearly intended to encourage immigration and settlement while promoting the railroad's extensive Dakota routes and the lands they served. Top corner of rear cover has been torn away but with minor influence on the railway system map, else very good.
