An early history of this South Dakota County complete with information of the first settlers, businesses, schools, churches, railroads, ranching, buffalo, Indians, etc. Also there are chapters on the drought, the great blizzard of 1887-88, hard times, prairie fires, etc. The author records events on a year-by-year basis whenever possible. A few top edges of page corners are bent, cloth is lightly soiled, else a very good copy.
