Description: "Studebaker roadster, 1908 Model H, apple-green color with fine yellow stripe; Garford 4-cylinder, 30-horsepower engine; imported Simms - Bosch low tension magneto; progressive type transmission; shaft drive; black top; seats two in the rear, may remove rear seats; front axle I beam section with ball bearings; semi-elliptic springs, front and rear; spoke in left wheel broken; factory No. 1377 on left hind side of seat, and also on front of the engine; Illinois license No. 4918; green leather upholstering; carbide generator; brass bumper; Stewart speedometer; three Goodrich and one Diamond 34 x 4 Clincher tires, two rear have Bailey tread, front tires wrapped tread; Rushmore headlights." "The above machine was stolen in this city on November 9, 1908. The man suspected of having stolen this automobile is about 26 years of age; 5 feet 9 inches tall; 140 pounds; dark eyes; pale face, very thin; sunken cheeks; long thin fingers; good dresser; when last seen wore brown tailor-made suit, brown derby hat; speaks broken English, with French accent; may have on a white sweater." "Kindly cause a thorough search to be made for same in automobile garages, repair shops and other places where it might be disposed of. If located kindly wire P. D. O'Brien, Captain, Commanding Detective Bureau." A nice, detailed picture of the 1908 Studebaker roadster is shown. Fold creases and an old water stain to verso of three panels, else very good copy.
