Other works by CATHY LUCHETTI

Publication: Antelope Island Press, 1982, StGeorge

First edition. Oblong quarto. Pictorial stiff wrappers, pictorial front and rear endpapers, 240 pp., illustrated from photos, appendix, chronology, footnotes, bibliography, photographic sources, acknowledgements. This book tells the stories of eleven western women in the United States between 1830 and 1910....women of varying economic, racial and religious backgrounds. Their stories are revealed through their own letters, diaries and journals, recounting daily activities and personal thoughts as they tried to survive under very difficult and at times impossible circumstances. There is special emphasis on the experiences of minority women -- Indian, black, Chinese and Japanese women's contributions were equal in importance in the settling the West. Very good, tight copy. Generously illustrated with more than 140 photographs of women at work and play, engaged in the activities of everyday life. Excellent photos and text!
