Written about by many, Walker left only a few letters of his own composition. In 1853, Walker appeared before a California committee to tell lawmakers how a railroad could be built across the Sierra Nevada mountains, providing the only record of his testimony. A near fine copy. Dust jacket is lightly rubbed, with light wear to spine ends and corners. Illegible signature on half-title.
