Filled with adventures in the South Texas cattle country, the remote Ranger camps on the Río Grande, and the early Texas oil fields. As captain of Company D, the last horseback ranger company, he scouted on practically all the large ranches in Texas, pursuing bandits, rustlers, and outlaws. SIX GUNS 2141 says "scarce." Much on Texas badmen including Sam Bass, Frank Jackson, Gregorio Cortez and others, as well as chapters on the Bandit War. A Texas Ranger who served in the most remote camps on the Rio Grande, and eventually became the commander of all Rangers...the Adjutant General of Texas. Fine in lightly rubbed dust jacket with one tiny chip to bottom edge of front panel.
