First edition. 18.3 cm. Yellow pictorial wrappers printed in red and black, [12], 336 pp., frontispiece (photograph of Harry Tracy), illustrated. Illustrated with twenty-five full page pictures by C. D. Rhodes. Harry Tracy (1869-1902), was a desperado and murderer who led a life of crime beginning in Billings, Montana, where he got a job on a ranch and soon became a cattle rustler. He killed a deputy sheriff and fled to the Cripple Creek area of Colorado, where after more killings he pursued a life of crime in Wyoming, where he associated with the Wild Bunch from time to time. He was arrested in Portland, Oregon after a killing and sentenced to 20 years in the penitentiary. He escaped in June, 1902, with the help of a female accomplice and killed 7 men during his escape. Six Guns 973 says "Scarce." Covers lightly soiled, else a very good copy.
