First Edition. Printed Boards with Cloth Spine. Large Folio (17''x11.25") 35 Sheets. Unbound, as Issued. Each sheet beautifully illustrated, with calligraphic portions printed in a version of Spanish Round Gothic, as seen in a Spanish Colonial Choir Book preserved in the Museum of New Mexico collections. "It has been said that few customs are more typical of the Spanish culture of New Mexico than its dedication to the Passion Of Christ and the observance of the related Way Of the Cross. This logically is traced to the region's Franciscan heritage." The four principal alabados related to the Way of the Cross are presented in full in this publication. Each sheet is in Fine, Bright condition. The portfolio, in which the sheets are laid has a 1" split to portion of the cloth spine. Boards are very slightly bowed, else fine, with bright gilt design and printing.
