[28 pp.], color photographic plates reproducing the car models, color tinted illustrations, color cutaway text diagrams throughout. Color-illustrated soft-covers, cover art of the grill of a 1939 Packard Super Eight. First edition of this uncommon original promotional catalogue for the Packard Super Eight which was the larger and the most luxurious of the 8-cylinder autos, when Packard was still the premier luxury automobile and the majority of their cars were the 120. The Packard Super 8 series was divided into the 1703 and 1705 series with the 1705 on the larger 148-inch wheelbase. The 1939 Packard Super-8 was the last year for the 130 horsepower engine, and featured six body styles as opposed to the fifteen from the previous year. This year was also the last year for the V-12 Packard’s with less than 500 built. No copies located in Worldcat. A small (1/2") closed tear to the top edge of the front cover and to all page including the top edge of the rear cover, small bump to foot of spine, inked prices to top of two car models, else a very good copy.
