Publication: Panhandle-Plains Historical Society, 1969, Canyon

First edition. 8vo. Story appears in the Panhandle-Plains Historical Review, Vol. XLII, 1969. Tan cloth, [2] iii [blank], 36 [1] pp., footnotes, illustrated, portraits, map, one full-page drawing by Jose Cisneros, wonderful introduction by J. Evetts Haley. Wayne Brazel disappeared in 1914, and little, if any, attention was paid. However five years earlier he had been much in the public eye when he was acquitted on another charge ---the sensational killing of Pat Garrett, the slayer of Billy the Kid. Fine, bright copy of a very scarce title. This is the first time we have encountered this title bound in cloth.
