Publication: Panhandle-Plains Historical Society, 1969, Canyon

First edition. 8vo. Story appears in the Panhandle-Plains Historical Review, Vol. XLII, 1969. Pictorial wrappers, 23 - 60 pp., footnotes, illustrated, portraits, map, one full-page drawing by Jose Cisneros. Wayne Brazel disappeared in 1914, and little, if any, attention was paid. However five years earlier he had been much in the public eye when he was acquitted on another charge ---the sensational killing of Pat Garrett, the slayer of Billy the Kid. Fine, unread copy of a very scarce title and the true first edition for this title.
