Volume II :Full dark brown leather, titles stamped in gold gilt on the spine, 280 [1] pp., foreword, illustrated, plates, portraits, maps, diagrams. Publication of these volumes is authorized by resolution of the Moffat Tunnel Commission. The Moffat Tunnel, a great engineering feat, was the dream of David H. Moffat (1839-1911) to build a railroad through the mountains from Denver to Salt Lake City, in order to develop northwestern Colorado and beyond. The famous tunnel was completed in 1928. The two volumes present an excellent account of Moffat, his rail road, and much biographical information. Portraits and biological information is provided for Denver and Colorado governmental officers. A fine, bright set.
