First edition. Limited to 100 copies. Simulated leather, 106pp., illus. An attractive 2-page reproduction of a map of the valley of the Little Bighorn depicting the battlefield and troop movements, which was hand-drawn and water-colored by Col. W.A. Graham, is also used as endpapers. Introduction by John M. Carroll. This a limited, hardbound edition of a catalogue of books and ephemera offered for sale in 1975 by the late Fred White, Jr. Compiled by Bill Reese, the catalogue of 1011 entries was comprised of the core of the Nichols collection, to which Fred added a few items from his stock. Melvin J. Nichols collection was primarily a "Custer" collection, supplemented by a few other books of the clashes between Indians and the Army in the American West. An outstanding reference for any "Custer" or "Indian Wars" collector. Limited to only 100 copies, this avidly sought edition is signed by Bill Reese, John Carroll, Fred White, Jr., and the catalogues designer, Michael J. Koury of the Old Army Press. Signed presentation by Fred White, Jr. on front free-endpaper stating, "I actually sold everything", dated July, 1990. A fine, bright copy in original slipcase.
