Frontispiece illustration, plus 4 plates with tipped-in color photographic illustrations. Frontis illustration by Tomie DePaola. Four pages of text describing the state flower of Texas... the Bluebonnet. The author was a botanist and educator who promoted the appreciation, knowledge, and use of native Texas plants. She was a leader in the development of garden clubs in Texas, and was instrumental in the creation of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, the oldest botanical garden in Texas. Some light edgewear to wrappers. Internally fine. A very scarce production.
