Mr. Gund's Western Art collection began in 1929 with the purchase of "A Heeler in the Slack" by Will James and continued until the months preceding his death in November, 1966. Artists collected included Albert Bierstadt, Alfred Jacob Miller, Frank Tenney Johnson, William R. Leigh, Frederic S. Remington, Charles M. Russell, Edward Borein, Charles Schreyvogel, and others. A Catalog of the Gund Collection of Western Art is listed at the rear of the publication. A fine copy.
