Describes the 42nd Ohio Infantry Regiment and its contribution during the Civil War as they fought on the Union Army's side. Information is provided on events, battles, engagements, officers, non-commissioned staff, enlisted men, volunteers, along with remarks about continuation of service after the war was over. Former owner's penciled name, address, and date on the front free fly leaf, spine internally reinforced, signatures resewn and original spine laid-down, with some light cosmetic touch-up to the corners.
